Day 19: Gratitude— good friends

I am thankful my husband and I are best friends with another married couple. I just love being around them. We are all very similar and yet very different. I am much like my husband’s buddy, Uriel. And my husband is much like his buddies’ wife, Alejandra. Uri and I can be found making weekly, if not daily, purchases on Amazon- and/or offer up. And we tend to have similar opinions to our approaches- both type A. And Al and my husband are more laid back and go with the flow. I like to defend Uri’s ways and Charlie (my husband) likes to defend Alejandra’s view. It’s hilarious!

I couldn’t love Alejandra more than I do. She is chill and easy to be around. She has a wide range of interests, but she’s not quick to mention them. But once I pull them out of her, I’m always fascinated. Breathwork, various self-help/motivational books she’s reading… Plenty of interests I’m into!

Last summer we went on a couples vacay together- Duluth, Minnesota. We rented a little VRBO on a lake and took day trips hiking and evenings at breweries. We couldn’t have had a better time. Between chill time, active time, and everything in between, we are on the same page.

Tonight we enjoyed our evening together. Uri made us some cocktails with his latest espresso machine (an offer up purchase). We chatted, laughed, and chatted some more. Being around other couples always seems to fill me up with joy- but this couple does it better than the rest. Al and Uri, you are my people. You are my family. I am so grateful for you!
