Vacation mode

It’s day 1 of Gulf Shores. Nothing can stop this day from being anything but peaceful. As my mom likes to put it, “I am surrounded by my favorite peeps.” We stop last night around 3am, just outside Birmingham, so that my dad could rest. By 6:40am we are all awake and ready for the last 4 hours of the drive.

As we near, we pass our “mile-markers” that show us we’re getting close: Lambert’s, Tanger Outlet, The Wild Woody go-kart track, LuLus, Souvenir City. Finally, we hit the T. Ocean straight in front of us. We’ve made it.

Check in isn’t until 4pm, and we arrive just before noon. Our place is ready anyways. Yes! Time to unload and settle in. By 1:00 our faces are in the sun. Reading, naps, and snack.
